Richard Stallman speaking in Bern and protesting against Berne Convention

"This Friday, August 15th, there is an organized, petition-based, protest of Wells Fargo in major cities across the US," Richard Stallman wrote two days ago. "It is a National Day of Action."

He uploaded this list of venues: (there are some encoding discrepancies)

The rationale is climate-related. To quote Common Dreams: "Just weeks after the inauguration, Wells Fargo became the only major U.S. bank to completely abandon its 2030 and 2050 climate goals, despite warnings from experts that we are headed toward catastrophic climate harms. The timing was not a coincidence."

To his credit, Richard Stallman does routinely attend if not leads protests.

Free software activist and GNU founder Richard Stallman spoke with iTnews following his unexpected appearance at a World Computer Congress patent discussion this week.
