  • BaseLibre Numerical System - Part 0

    I have already made zero (one) article about the BaseLibre numerical system. In this zeroth (first) article, I went ahead and talked a bit too much (for a zeroth (first) article) :-) .

    In this (current) article I am explaning the zeroth (first) number.

    Base, which does not have a number to represent it, is the reference, the context, of the counting. After Base, comes the zeroth (first) entity, which already can be represented by a number -- the number "0".

      For years I used Spotify to listen to music, like pretty much everyone else by now. Even though I never thought it was ideal, I could see the upsides: a small monthly fee for what felt like an endless music library I could dig through at will. And not just mainstream stuff either. There was plenty off the beaten track. For a long time, it was a no-brainer. I discovered new bands, made playlists, hit "like," and every now and then my musical horizon really did expand.

      The one bitter pill: being forced to listen via smartphone. As someone who tries to keep screen time outside of work as low as possible, this was always a thorn in my side. I don't want my phone in my pocket all the time, because even on silent, there's that subtle itch to check notifications. And when I skip to the next track, I often catch myself "just quickly" checking emails or messages.
