The UEFI Restricted Boot 'Time Bomb' is About to Go Off in a Few Weeks
A month ago: Our Three Lawsuits Against Microsofters Are About to Become a Lot More Relevant to GNU/Linux
UEFI "Restricted Boot" as the FSF calls it has already done considerable, superfluous harm to GNU/Linux users. Many people struggle to even install GNU/Linux on their PCs. They cannot figure out how to get it done. Even if they somehow get it done Microsoft may sabotage that at any time, then laugh at the victims.
See, to Microsoft liars the term "security" means locking people out of their own machines [1, 2], even if by the extended definition of "security" that is the exact opposite of security. As we put it a week ago, ""Secure Boot" is a Security Problem, Not a Solution".
It seems convenient that this past Friday a judge ruled on a similar case to ours. The Serial Strangler from Microsoft won't find sympathy, nor will the chaining of frivolous cases be tolerated by the courts. He and his litigation buddy Garrett [1, 2] can't stop threatening us, even while we're on holiday. These are really bad people.
No wonder they gravitate towards Microsoft. About Garrett, one person told me yesterday: "I told you he was crazy and couldn't be trusted. Years before you threw him out. Over a decade even."
Garrett was the first person to face sanctions (like muting) in our IRC channels because of his abuse; worse yet, he hijacked other people's names and then locked them out of their own accounts. That's not funny and not 'hacking'; it's more like cracking, but the law is a joke to this person.
His lawyer now says that the issue of a sexual pest/predator losing a 3+ year long SLAPP against over a dozen people and publishers was that the judge didn't believe him, not that he was a really horrible person. This says a lot about the attitude of this lawyer; no wonder many people quit his firm this year, especially women. They refuse to believe women victims, they believe their abusers as long as they pay for lawsuits. █
