The UEFI 9/11 - Part II - Campaign of Censorship and Defamation Against Critics
In Part I we reminded readers what will happen exactly 2 weeks from now, within a fortnight basically.
One person has since then told us: "One more thing to note about UEFI: it is yet another step in the ongoing war against general-purpose computing."
Another person sent us several links showing the lies told by Microsofters about what would happen. They do not deny it's a disaster, they just try to belittle or debate how big a disaster. They don't care. Few of them run GNU/Linux!
When we say "9/11" we literally mean 9/11 (in the US, the eleventh day of the ninth month). Don't mind the politics. But there are analogies. The other day the US took another step towards full-scale fascism. "In a rambling 80-minute event in the Oval Office," one publisher wrote, Cheeto "lambasted critics and the media as he complained that he was not getting credit for his National Guard-backed crackdown on crime and immigration."
Attacking the media, too. Like the UEFI boosters did [1, 2], helped by dangerously violent employees from Microsoft, people who attack vulnerable women, even the spouses of critics. How much lower will they stoop? Cheeto analogies can be made. The same people who attack women also attack Microsoft critics.
The same day (as the above) the media in Michigan recalled "Mafalda’s soup rebellion". To quote: "He said that Mafalda is actually “about values, democracy, the state of the world, living under a dictatorship.” And, he added, “Most of it was written under an authoritarian regime in Argentina. Somehow, [Quino] got away with it.”"
More from the respective article:
Welcome to “Mafalda,” the beloved comic strip by the late Argentine cartoonist Quino that’s getting a delayed introduction to English-speaking readers. “Mafalda” offered different rewards to different Spanish-speaking demographics across Latin America since its nine-year run from 1964 to 1973 and extended afterlife. Kids could laugh at the antics of the impish, inquisitive yet innocent title character and her family and friends. Adults could smile at the strip’s subversive political humor, including jabs at the Vietnam War and subtler tweaks at Argentina’s military dictatorship. Now, for the very first time, “Mafalda” is also available to English-speaking readers. Irish translator and writer Frank Wynne has rendered 240 strips into English; they are published as one volume by Elsewhere Editions.
Quino was a cartoonist, so memes seem like a suitable, 'new-age' analogy. The meme/s can illuminate the core issue/s and get "under the skin" of people whom they criticise (without crossing some fine boundaries). In dictatorships, humour serves an important role. It's tragic. Navalny did that a lot. At the end Putin had the last laugh and took a reconnaissance plane to the US, where he received a red-carpet treatment from another enemy of the press (ironically in a military base meant to protect against him, but instead helped him stall, curtail sanction, and take the Donbas faster).
Use of censorship and defamation to ram the UEFI through is very well documented, i.e. it's the same as systemd for example, not to mention Wayland (if you don't want to use Wayland, then you can get "flagged" and censored, maybe even portrayed as a nazi).
It should be noted that the same people who push systemd and UEFI 'secure' boot represent the Microsoft infiltration in Debian (Microsoft staff). Not only do they defame and sue (SLAPP) critics; they also issue physical threats and use trans people (whom they hold in contempt) in social control media as an angry mob, directing them who to attack.
Over the years I've documented how they people operate, including how they misuse courts in another continent. One of them had the audacity to even call the police in another continent to attempt SWATTing, set aside intimidation of all sorts. Remember: these people really, really hate and reject women.
The people who worked to bring you "UEFI 9/11" are online extremists - far more extreme than so-called "truthers". █
