    I tried to be diplomatic in the past. Tried to see good things about it. Loud people told me that I'm a luddite and that's bad, right?

    Well, I woke up to 600'000 hits on my webserver this morning. All in a couple of hours. Some bot requested the same URLs over and over. It comes in waves of 500-1000 hits at once (and then moments of silence). That in itself appeared not to be that much of a problem, but this is just one bot of one company and it only crawled a tiny little fraction of my page. Once all AI companies do that, it's game over.

    Blocking individual IPs doesn't work, they have too many. Blocking sub- nets doesn't work, they have too many. I am thus now blocking entire providers.
