Certificate Authority Let's Encrypt Drops to Only Half a Dozen Capsules and 0.2% of the Whole in Geminispace, Self-Signed is the Way to Go
It used to have hundreds, according to Lupa
About 10 hours ago Lupa statistics got updated, as they do every day at around 4:30 AM European time (UTC or CET, not GMT/BST). For the first time ever the Certificate Authority (CA) Let's Encrypt fell as low as 6 (see above), marking a symbolic decrease from 0.3% to just 0.2%.
In Geminispace, centralised Certificate Authorities aren't real a thing. It's TOFU (trust on the first use).
Companies like Google and other shills of imperialistic CA 'cartels' can't possibly be happy about this. The CAs give them a ton of control or leverage over billions of computer users. It's not just unjust; it's dangerous.
Google has already made it hard to find any information about Gemini, the protocol. █
