IBM's GNU/Linux Divestment, Based on Hard But Anecdotal Evidence (IBM Fails to Recognise How Much Money It Made and Can Still Make From "Linux")

Love us or hate us, a lot of what we've been saying about Red Hat under IBM turns out to be rather accurate, including what seems like a wave of resignations, maybe part of the "RTO" regimen (trying to cause people to resign, to move on 'voluntarily').
This is hardly a new HR tactic and it's indistinguishable from what IBM does to its "blue" staff; to lessen the perceived damage of mass layoffs IBM is trying to squeeze the workers. In thelayoff.com many people complain about this every day. They say that despite their team being cut in half, for example, the workload for remaining staff is the same, i.e. people have double the work and are expected to work late, during weekends etc.
"With RAs we went from almost 25 on our team to 12," said one comment. "Work has piled up and the boss non clamantly divvies up the workload so I have all these tasks plus the other stuff I do. However , I am not burning myself out. No more working nights and weekends. It ain't worth it . I will get to it, when I get to it. And I am not going to upskill. Krabanaugh has squeezed enough out of me."
