Microsoft Trying to Fake Demand for Slop. At What Cost?

As noted earlier:
Just over a month ago Microsoft 'mothballed' GitHub [1, 2], dumping it into a newly-minted shell that lets Microsoft pretend to shareholders that GitHub is "hey hi" something and thus "de fyucher".
This means Microsoft GitHub got reduced to just "some Web site" and "app" (maybe API). That's a giant demotion and broken promises.
If you look for alternatives to Microsoft GitHub, then take a look at what GNU is recommending. The site is down at the moment due to the LLM slop.
