Slopwatch: Linux Plagiarism, Slopfarms Still Infesting Google News, Many Images Are Fake
Slopwatch is a series that keeps track of fake articles, with a special focus on "Linux" (because we cannot feasibly keep abreast of all the slop "out there" on the Web).
Let's begin with the Serial Slopper (SS) Brian Fagioli:
Are those real articles? No. It's LLM slop, with slop images added at top. This is why the SS got kicked out of BetaNews.
Here's another fake "news" site called "Linux"Security, which as usual is just a bunch of LLM slop with slop images along the way:
Even Google News plays its role in promoting slopfarms today:
And of course the sister slopfarm:
Notice the similarity. The same people run both sites, they just use some LLM permutation to make it seem like articles (and distinct ones). They overwhelm the algorithms.
And another slopfarm propped up by Google News:
Why on Earth can Google not figure out that every single article in that domain is plagiarism with LLMs? Worse yet, why is this in Google News rather than demoted or delisted? Google is promoting plagiarism. █
