Nepal Will Fall Without a Single Shot Fired, Thanks to Social Control Media
Or very few shots (by the authorities)
TechDirt is wrong (repeatedly by now). The New York Times is wrong. Almost all the media coverage about this is wrong. We saw a few exceptions here and there, some of them got added to Daily Links.
We're not experts in Nepal. We don't understand Nepalese culture. We don't know Nepal's politics. We do, however, know how social control media works, who controls it, who funds it, and what it has historically done. Look at Cuba, Romania, Egypt etc. This is nothing new. ZunZuneo is an example of this which is over a decade old. Quoting Associated Press: "USAid started ZunZuneo, a social network built on texts, in hope it could be used to organize 'smart mobs' to trigger Cuban spring".
"After 30+ Deaths In Protests Triggered by Nepal’s Social Media Ban," TechDirt writes, "145,000 People Debate The Country’s Future In Discord Chatroom".
Yes, welcome to... democracy! Deciding the leadership or direction of the country in proprietary chatrooms controlled by foreign companies and censored by them.
Nothing says "democracy!" better than China-controlled Discord (yes, follow the money) and TikTok. Why would China care about Nepal anyway? It's not like it's near Tibet oh, never mind.
It's not just China with a stake (even literally a stake) in the outcome and while much of the media covered the events in Nepal as "censorship" the reality is a lot more complex.
As a neighbour of China, just like Taiwan (and Hong Kong), "Nepal has been attacked by social control media and conquered those who control Discord now control Nepal," an associate explains.
Look up any nation in East Asia or South-East Asia in relation to China's interference via social control media meddling. This is a well documented fact, not merely a "theory" or "hypothesis". This is ongoing in several countries at the same time. One might say that if Chinese intelligence apparatus staff was not doing this, it would be considered bad at serving the "Patriotic Duty".
Social control media has long been effective as a tool of digital invasion/mental occupation - far more potent than dropping leaflets from planes or using giant megaphones like famously done in - or near to - the Korean DMZ. █
