    ...it tends to keep raining. My last month has been such a rollercoaster that I can't really bring myself to go into everything that's happened. The highlights?

    aside from back to school season and the witchy eclipse, autumn has been barreling through some other milestones. (i'm not really sure what you do with milestones. achieve? pass?)

    Apparently some look for strict separation of fantasy and scifi; however, the original D&D freely mixed crashed spaceships, lasers, and other scifi tropes with the Western Medieval Period As Seen Through A Lens Coated With Vaseline, Otherwise Known As An Inappropriately Long Way To Say High Fantasy. Recall that Ultima I had spaceships (hey, why not?), while later titles in the series leaned more into strict Fantasy. This probably needs more research to detail just how strict the separation is or was, if any, and who where the folks insisting on not mixing the jelly with the peanut butter. Maybe it was assisted by the proliferation of AD&D settings (Dark Sun, Ravenloft, etc.) where the fantasy and scifi are more distinct from one another due to these isolating realms?
