Microsoft Had Two Waves of Mass Layoffs This Month (That We Know of) and It'll Get Worse for Microsoft Soon
A few hours ago:
Morale at Microsoft is bad [1, 2, 3], it's very low at the moment because workers assume every week/month can be their last irrespective of how hard they work, hence all those "Satya sez" pieces (not articles but grotesque PR with permutations in slopfarms). It's not about performance, it's about fast-growing debt excused by saying "we invest in slop" . "And this will only get worse," says this latest thread "regarding Microsoft Corp. layoffs". "The wave of mass layoffs by big tech (large technology corporations) that has continued since last year is shaking the economy of Seattle, Washington, one of America’s major “technology hubs.”" Citing this article that we mentioned yesterday, it provides some evidence based on the corporate media, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ). They're no longer downplaying this issue.
Remember that this month (which still has a week left) we already saw mass layoffs in France and in Washington (the state). The rumours say there's more to come and it won't be random but "Performance Based". Will the axe fall again by month's end? Time will tell.
The whole "back to the office at least 3 times a week" thing is about trying to get workers to leave "of their own volition". The way this was communicated to the media by Microsoft reveals they're paranoid about workers forming a consensus around that, even if they already understood this 2 years ago.
Microsoft is collapsing and pump-and-dump tactics are an exit strategy of sorts. █
