The long(er) story below:
Roy and Rianne's Righteously Royalty-free RSS Reader is an RSS reader or feeds aggregator. Development of it began in early 2023, less than a year after Russia not only invaded a part of Ukraine (Crimea in 2014) but also attempted to eliminate the country, possibly with more countries to follow. Several of us had long used QuiteRSS, which was developed by Russians and was last updated 4 years ago. Without further releases, its rendering engine became risky - or riskier - to use. That issue predates any Russian politics. We didn't abandon QuiteRSS over politics.
Regardless, my storage device died around that time, so I and others began developing alternatives for news analysis, curation, research, and reading. We wanted something that worked for us specifically.
The software is free, under the strict terms of copyleft. It's always work in progress. We always try to improve things. The changes are made via self-hosted Git, which is accessible to all via Gemini Protocol.
For an explanation of how we use Roy and Rianne's Righteously Royalty-free RSS Reader (R.R.R.R.R.R.) and for more information, even if dated, see the June 2024 release notes. █
