As noted earlier today, XBox is in the headlines again, and not for the reasons Microsoft wants. Unable to squeeze profits out of this dying business (a former VP admits it is "dead"), having already stated that it loses money on each console sold, the company goes for the kill and also kills many studios.
What we're witnessing is a very ungraceful destruction of XBox, vindicating us as we've predicted this for quite a few years.
There is absolutely no way for XBox to recover from this, not in the current market conditions.
How many people did Microsoft get rid of this year? Like in IBM, the figures it discloses to the media are 2-3 times smaller than the real numbers. As somebody put it 10 hours ago: "When you factor in (unjust) PIPs, RTO fallout, and other forced "voluntary" attrition (people quitting due to targeted lack of raises promotions) the real number is 2-3X that." A prior comment said: "Individual, silent layoffs or small groups, they can't quantify them." █
