FSF Board Grew 50% Since Last Year, Has New President, Turns 40 in Two Days
Ian Kelling, the new FSF President, was only 3 when the FSF started. He was 1 when GNU was announced. We congratulate him on this new appointment. Our experiences of him were always positive.
This appointment comes just weeks after un-cancellations and serves to show the FSF has "young faces" serving both as Executive Director and as President. That also addresses some common criticisms about "succession" at the FSF.
A year ago the FSF's Board had 6 people, now it has nine:
Kelling is no bureaucrat, he's a geek who combats bots and from what we've seen he has strong social skills.
It's a good move for the FSF and - by extension - for software freedom. █
