Richard Stallman is celebrating 40 years of the FSF today. Then he goes to Europe to give several talks, as he has planned since summer if not spring.
What the FSF does is "activism", which means it'll get attacked a lot (for reasons we explained before). Even its new president is already being viciously and mercilessly attacked in Phoronix comments, for no legitimate reason at all!!!
That the FSF managed to make it to 40 means that the FSF - despite what its detractors say - has a good, durable, time-tested strategy. Not many social movements - let alone political ones - can endure so much and last this long.
Dr. Stallman, despite his battle with cancer, is still alive and mentally sharp (his cognition is very good, based on recent interviews). He travels the world to spread the message. In Italy, a room with capacity of about 400 was not big enough when he spoke there some months ago, despite his talk being announced at very short notice (about one business day!). He was extremely happy about this. █
