"Nobel" Exploited Posthumously for "AI" Hype, Now They Do the Same With "Quantum"

4 days ago: Nobel Prize in Economics Does Not Exist, It's Propaganda From Sveriges Riksbank
Not a long time has passed since the "Nobel" folks exploited their awards to spread or legitimise mindless hype about "AI" and days ago we saw winners for "Quantum" something something something...
There have been many jokes about "Nobel" for peace (often granted to pro-war people) and a fake one for "Economics" (establishment propaganda). Have the scientific Nobel Prizes/Awards become the same?
IBM is failing at the "AI" hype and is trying to hop onto "Quantum", claiming to be a "market leader" or whatever.
Don't laugh. GAFAM has been the same! Google and Microsoft in particular love to scream and about "Quantum", especially when they experience some commercial failure and want to distract shareholders, diverting their attention to some vapourware.
Two days ago redhat.com, where most of today's posts are something about "AI", decided to push "quantum computing".
IBM must be worried that it is widely perceived as good at nothing or not exceptional at anything. It seems to be failing at everything. Hours ago someone posted the following:
Mainframe is in trouble
Commonwealth Bank, Australia's largest bank and in fact the largest company, has successfully migrated their core banking system off the mainframe onto SAP S/4 Hana on an AWS cloud system. They expect to retire their mainframe in 18 months, and it's now only processing credit card transactions. If Comm Bank can successfully retire their mainframe, then anyone can do it. The argument for keeping the mainframe has always been it's crucial for high transaction high security environments, but this proves that is not the case. It's only a matter of time before other FSI companies, and governments, follow the same path.
Will IBM quit POWER while it's at it? What has it got left to show or boast about other than a fiction of work-life balance? █
