An Evening at the Fair
Even after a long day working on the railroad, I decided to attend the county fair for the evening in the hopes of making a good memory, or, just for the heck of it, dine on some good truck food.
The rides and the buzzing of the local crowd give me a sense of nostalgia that I hadn't felt in a long time. But there was something missing from this beautiful picture; friends. I hadn't met any in a while, and I was wondering who I'd bump into, and when.

It's 2025, and you're still using RSA (or dsa)?
I wasn't really sure if I should publish this or not, but here you go.
I want to argue, that you shouldn't be using RSA keys. Not for SSH, not for your web-server and not for your capsule.

Downgrading a Microsoft Surface Device to Windows 10 [Ed: Microsoft charges money for security patches - a problematic business model]
It's also a frustratingly slow Windows 11 tablet. I got the go-ahead from the rest of the household to reinstall Windows 10 on it.
My big concern was that the Surface Go 2 is a very specific hardware device, and I wasn't sure just booting to the most recent Windows 10 installation image would find all the drivers, especially the pen support. So I did a little digging, and found that Microsoft provides recovery images for the Surface line (and not just the tablets and laptops), much like Android manufacturers (sometimes) provide images to reset their devices to a known working version.

Fast Fourier Friday
In theory you can make a system of equations that generates whatever. In practice getting the functions to do something reasonable may take some effort.
