From Scholar to Booster of Slop (and Even Slop in His Own Blog)
Daniel Lemire's blog is littered with slop images:
Today I examined Daniel Lemire's blog. For nearly a year he has been shilling slop in place of code and slop in place of all sorts of other things, including writings, research, and images (see above; he's using slop images).
Daniel Lemire is not stupid, so why does he promote this Ponzi scheme? We're not saying and have never suggested he personally invested in it; we have no information to that effect anyway.
Some readers wrote to us about Daniel Lemire, seeing the moral of not cognitive decline. What Computer Science teacher would seek to make excuses to slop in place of code? It does not save time or money and there are legal risks, too.
We're going to keep an eye on future posts of his. For now, he does not seem to be using LLM slop for his text, but that can change if/when real audience jogs on. █
