OpenSource or "Open Source" as a Brand is Dying, Let's Get Back to Talking About Software Freedom
This Code of Conduct mentions "caste", but the enforcers of the Code of Conduct constantly enforce caste-like discrimination against various people; it's not about participation and collaboration but about corporate domination over unpaid volunteers (they want free labour and full control over this labour, so in effect they cultivate slavery)
At the beginning of this month we pointed out that the OpenSource.com 'replacement', OpenSource.net, had pretty much died. Shortly before that, in September, the Open Source Initiative (OSI) or OpenSource.org decapitated itself.
When people say dumb things like "Open Source has won" they typically promote Microsoft or GitHub. They try to tell us that a proprietary status quo is OK and no work is left to be done. They feed free code into a blender to make proprietary software and call this "victory!"
Is proprietary heist the actual goal?
Those of us who actually want to reform the industry and put users in control of their systems/devices will recognise that "Open Source" was selling a lie or got-co-opted by liars. Many of them are GAFAM staff on the payroll of GAFAM.
Surprise surprise! "Open Source" is monopolists.
The co-founder of the OSI recognised this and started Post Open. █
