Google News Drowning in Slop (and Slopfarms That Hijack About Half the Results)
When searching for Linux news ("linux") in Google News one might expect some useful results and relevant news. However, this hasn't been the case for quite some time.
Instead of doing the expected thing, this past day for example almost 50% of the results were stuff like this from a relatively new slopfarm:
Can nobody at Google News figure out that "findarticles.com" is a fake site with "stolen" articles? It is really not hard to figure this out, but Google News had mass layoffs a couple of years ago.
Just like "findarticles.com", all the following articles from another slopfarm are fake. Nobody would be easily fooled by these slop images, yet this is what Google News presents as "linux" news or news about "linux":
Yes, it's that many. Google News seems to be drowning in this stuff. █
