The Slopfarm WebProNews is Overwhelming "linux" Results in Google News

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Nov 04, 2025

How can Google not detect or figure out the obvious fact those are fake in every way (fake author names, fake images, and fake text)?

For many months already Google and Google News (i.e. the more closely monitored/curated version) has been gamed heavily by WebProNews, which used to be an actual news site for many years and then became a slopfarm. Why Google turns a blind eye to such obvious slop if not Google's own role in slop... ("Bard", "Gemini" and so on)

Take a look at what Google is promoting as "news" about "linux" today:

Slop or fake: Ubuntu 25.10 Rust uutils Bug Disrupts Updates, Sparks Security Concerns

Old news redone with slop.

Ripping off originals:

Slop or fake: Linus Torvalds Releases Linux Kernel 6.18-rc4 with Driver and Filesystem Fixes

More ripoffs:

Slop or fake: Arch Linux Releases Archinstall 3.0.12 and Pacman 7.1 with Security Boosts

And then some...

Slop or fake: Kiwi Menu GNOME Extension Adds macOS-Inspired Quick Access Features

Linux Surpasses 3% Steam User Share in October 2025 Milestone

There were many originals, but Google News excluded them while promoting this LLM slop.

This one is neither creative nor Creative. It's just slop.

Slop or fake: Sound Blaster Re:Imagine: Modular Linux Audio Hub for Gamers and Creators

Google News is slop. One is left to simply assume that Google doesn't see it as a problem.

If even Google News is so full of plagiarism, the incentive to produce original work/s will fall sharply, worsening everything for everybody except Serial Sloppers.
