Why I'm Always Proud of the Site I've Devoted My Life to
Last week I stood up and explained to a High Court Judge that I had dedicated my entire adult life to reporting suppressed facts, protecting sources (even at risk to myself), and protecting women from abusive men. Not even my critics dared dispute that my track record in that regard was clean. I could instead be making a lot of money in tech companies; but I chose not to.
My wife has already suffered enough from misogynists in tech. She herself is educated in tech. She has a university degree in Computer Science and she graduated around the time the dot-com bubble burst (many sites riding the same hype we now witness in "AI").
The previous page in this site is #12,577 - that is since late September 2023 when we deployed an SSG (which we had developed since around July 2022). We publish over 6,000 pages per year and they have a positive impact. They really hurt those who hurt society. These people want those pages to be gone and they want the site to be gone. They're willing to spend about a million dollars trying to take down a dozen or so pages. That's how much they hate what we publish.
Every person needs to make choices in life; one such choice might be, do you wish to do something beneficial for society or only for yourself (at the expense of society)? Will you stand for truth or will you lie for companies (the Public Relations industry)? I actually left an employer after nearly 12 years because the bosses started forcing some colleagues of mine to lie to customers. Those colleagues didn't like it; thankfully those demands never reached me, personally.
In a healthy society, peers are also like friends or colleagues, not enemies. But when societies break down, a "dog eat dog" world becomes the 'norm'.
Never wish to live in a "dog eat dog" society; it's not only unpleasant, it can be fatal.
As a graffiti around the corner from our home says, "be a better person".
Also, do your share. █
