Techrights Search Will Come Early
Maybe tomorrow
We originally planned - after some procrastination nonetheless - to take the search facility live on the anniversary (Friday), but now that we've removed the password and are testing or have tested it with multiple Web browsers it seems like we can go "live" as early as tomorrow morning.
This way, we hope, focusing on the anniversary will be simpler. Our main concern regarding search is DDoS attacks. We want to be around a keyboard in case some malicious bots use search functions to hammer the back end (server).
Rianne will be at this site's anniversary party. Contact us to join us. We just need to do some vetting to assure safety.
Given that "Tux Machines Was Always Run by Women" and Tux Machines parties are mostly women, it's hard to somehow paint us as hostile towards or discriminating against women (unlike GNOME). Even our worst enemies outright refused to make such an assertion last week in court. One might argue that our inclusion and unrelenting defence of women is why some groups dislike us. █
