Rocky Linux's Embrace of Mindless Cargo Cults Will Harm Rocky Linux in the Long Run
NVidia is a bubble riding a giant Ponzi scheme, as we noted this morning when we said: "NVIDIA is understandably concerned as it stands to lose the most; its CEO now talk about some fictional "race with China" over slop (which he has conveniently mislabeled as "AI", just like fake coins or pyramid schemes call themselves "crypto"). It's the old nonsense about "AI arms race", which compels regimes to give taxpayers' money to a bunch of fraudsters, based on flawed premises such as slop inevitability or "AI takeover" or some other infantile fantasy (baseless hype, basically)."
There are many links from this past week about this ridiculous alarmist nonsense from NVIDIA's CEO. We didn't link to any of that (we skipped) because it was pure nonsense and any sensible person could see why it was self-serving nonsense.
Having said that, Rocky Linux, the "child" of IBM's attacks on CentOS (which have intensified since) and not the only such child (Alma is the other "big child"), is rushing to find gold where none exists, except the temporary hype.
