The 'Politics' of Operating Systems (or Exclusion for Inclusion's Sake)
From those who accuse others of what they themselves are.
Lately there have been calls to boycott not only some OSes for 'wrongthink' of some developers; there were even calls for a boycott against anyone who dared support - in any way whatsoever - any such OSes. See, the 'wrongthink' is apparently not just inherited from developers; it's also passed on to anyone who dares use such OSes or chooses not to exclude them (e.g. hardware support).
This whole 'wrongthink' policing is getting out of hand. It introduces many of the same issues as "Ethical Source". It's creating situations wherein people get split along lines like "are you vaccinated for this particular disease?" or "do you support war in [someplace]?"
Be careful and sceptical of people who try to split the community in this way. As we put it a month ago, "Many Developers Have Many Political Views, They'll Never Agree on Everything". You don't need to agree with everybody on everything. It'll never happen. █
