IBM "Trying to Memory Hole the RA With Positive News."

One week ago: IBM May Well Be Laying Off Over 13,500 and Up to 27,000 Staff This Week When It Says "Single-Digit Percentage of Our Global Workforce"

2 days ago: IBM Exits Continue This Week

5 days ago we pointed out that Mexico-based IBM staff had been subjected to mass layoffs and 2 hours ago we saw this in Microsoft's LinkedIn:

Last Friday was my last day at IBM after more than 3 amazing years.

Ricardo Hernandez

This RA is international or global in scope; it's not limited to America, either.

And speaking of America, 2 hours ago somebody wrote:

I was part of the large 7000 employees RA in April 2023 due to AI (BS! my job was relocated to Brazil as others; AI was barely a factor, but it served their narrative. I sent my resume to Randstad for review and signed up for their service. Resume had merely a few changes and did better only using Chat GPT.I used their service and job search but it wasn’t great. Best benefits of the IBM packaged was $2500 reimbursement that had to be completed before one year after last day of employment. Also, a lot of free training/certifications accessible from Lighthouse for 6 months.Good luck in your job search.

This says "my job was relocated to Brazil", but we also heard of IBM Brazil layoffs last week. Even India.

Going further back (8 hours ago) we see this other thread:

IBM unveils one of the fastest computers on Earth

And now they're trying to memory hole the RA with positive news.

thanks. Yeah just another boring yawn from me. Been in the IT game A LONG TIME and recall lots of these things. I recall the DEC Digital Equipment Corp has their Alpha CPU chip that was the first mass produced 64 bit CPU that was going to solve world hunger in 92. Paraphrasing Goose "...the list is long but UN distinguished..." usually.

IBM continues to move itself further and further away from customer relationships and more like a purveyor of commodity light bulbs in the Home Depot aisle.

And latest:

didn't we recently read that some city in India wanted to host one or more quantum systems from IBM and expected IBM to pay for the privilege of the hosting ? It was obvious that it was nothing but a scam to separate the top id--ts at IBM from their money, as they were expected to fund it all - Datacenter and the system(s) ? It may yet happen sometime in 2026 when Alvind departs the mother ship.

When they're back to name-dropping "quantum" it's clear they have no real plan, just vapourware.
