The EPO Has Spent Years Attacking European Media, Led by a Cocaine Addict (the EPO's Spokesperson)
In 2014 (see above) activity, traffic and comments surged in IP Kat because it began covering EPO corruption. Later the EPO attacked IP Kat, the founder left, IP Kat was left startled (to be bossed by Team UPC), and the person who managed IP Kat then did photo ops with Benoît Battistelli. Many people don't remember it, but we do. When António Campinos came to the Office IP Kat suddenly pretended that everything was OK and there was no merit to any further coverage of scandals at the EPO.
Since then IP Kat lost many active contributors, the number of annual posts decreased (in 2022 it was less than one per day, on average, i.e. an all-time low), and comments are now increasingly scarce.
The EPO silences critics by SLAPPs and the EUIPO, now run by a friend of Campinos, does the same (I learned this yesterday). It feels like the EU becomes more and more like the Kremlin over time. Critical media is being silenced by a bunch of corrupt officials who do illegal things and sell the top-level EU jobs. Whether or not Russia advances inside Ukrainian soil, its culture of hostility towards the media has already invaded the very heart of Europe. █
