Under IBM, Red Hat Isn't a Linux Company, It's Sold to Clients as "AI Company"
IBM is sacrificing Red Hat for Wall Street (share price)
The official Red Hat blog looks like this:
Scroll down a little to find almost 50% of all blog posts being about "AI" or some other buzzwords.
Does this look sane to anyone?
IBM is willing to kill Red Hat just to spread hype and shore up the stock (share price).
It doesn't seem to mind if Red Hat loses focus of what it was about... all along.
IBM doesn't get (or care about) the community
IBM is all about money.
It was all about money when it did eugenics.
And all about money when it did genocide.
Pete Zaitcev, who joined Red Hat in 2001, said last year that "IBM bought Red Hat using such a scheme for $35 billion. That brought up their total debt load to $54 billion. But the layoffs only amounted 4%, and targeted project management, writing, and community positions. So a brainless restructuring is not a given."
There are still layoffs this week. Don't mind words like "restructuring"; they are doing OK, according to them. They are just ‘rightsizing’ (layoffs)... any more euphemisms? █
