Flagging or Labelling LLM Slop Meaningfully to Discourage the Practice
When we flag screenshots with "LLM Slop" or "Slop" or whatever we intend not just to warn our readers; it's also meant to be somewhat of a badge of shame (to people who've adopted this practice).
We're still refining the annotation for better contrast (input screenshots aren't predictable when it comes to colour/s, size, aspect ratio etc.) and more clarify, knowing that most people never heard the new-age slang "slop" before.
Nope, we will not refer to it as "AI". Never.
The latest iteration, which we'll add to Git some time soon, produces something like this:
There is an incredible abundance of such slop all over the Web this year (the above is classic slop about slop). We need to treat it accordingly and highlight the biggest culprits. There are still prospects of rehabilitation. █
