More People Want to Quit Windows (Vista 10 is "End of Life"), Restricted Boot (UEFI) Makes That Harder
Over the weekend:
Hours ago:
"When i tried to make my efibootmanager to launch the signed bootloaders from the usb it straight up rejects with a bluescreen saying "Arch has been blocked by the current security policy.""
Every day, everywhere in the world, people try to install GNU/Linux. They don't want Windows anymore or they want to dual-boot, basically to try something else in tandem.
Then, Restricted Boot gets in their way. Most of them don't even understand that. They're not very technical; to them, "Linux just doesn't work..."
It's widely agreed (a consensus) that Restricted Boot is a bad thing for GNU/Linux and even a bad thing for all computer users.
It was never about security, it's about controlling users using false promises. █
