Dakota Chambers says “the year of Linux on the desktop” is next year (6 weeks from now)
"We’ve been joking about “the year of Linux on the desktop” for three decades now, but it really does feel like the stars are aligned for 2026 to be that year. For it to finally grab a non-niche marketshare in the desktop/laptop computer market." -Dakota Chambers last week
For the first time this year - not counting last winter - the temperatures here sank below zero, but it is at least sunny and relatively nice outside (bright sky correlates with low temperatures in wintertime), so we shall go out to enjoy Town, then come back home to look after our sites.
We've had a very productive month here (many new pages added, many updated), we publish many original stories, and traffic rose a lot, both in Geminispace and the World Wide Web.
We've meanwhile begun decorating the home for the holidays next month. Six weeks from now it is 2026 already. █
