In the US, GNU/Linux is Measured at Over 10% on Desktops and Laptops Based on Billions of Sessions Per Month
As the sister site has just put it, "GNU/Linux "market share" metrics still point at 6% today" yet that includes mobile platforms such as iOS and Android. Let's look a little more closely:
No doubt it is a lot of data. Most of that comes from "United States & Territories", the rest is "International".
The OS breakdown looks like this:
So 67.7% (100% minus 33.3%) is "desktop/laptop", with 7.7% of that being GNU/Linux.
That's well over 10% (6.77%) and it shows that Vista 11 at 13.8% is only a mere 6.1% ahead of GNU/Linux.
If the steady growth of GNU/Linux carries it, then it might even be measured as higher than the latest Windows (which is the only version of Windows still supported), at least based on this very large data set. █
