WebProNews is Where LLM Slop and Slop Images About "Linux" Become Truly Hilarious
4 days ago regarding WebProNews: Fake News Sites Made by LLMs Are Lying With Confidence (IBM and Red Hat Layoffs)
WebProNews used to be a real news site. Used to be. WebProNews was habitually covering Web related companies and events, including Google, SEO, and so on (think Web Pros' News).
It's hard for us to point the finger at any specific year, but some time or somewhere along the way WebProNews decided to 'reboot' as a slopfarm and now it's everywhere in Google News, which still wrongly assumes this is a news site.
In the case of "Linux" or "Ubuntu" or "BSD" (not limited to these), WebProNews shows up a lot and it loves ripping off the work of Michael Larabel (but doesn't limit itself to that).
This was hours ago:
The above is all slop, but we left it as-is (no labelling) because: 1) look at the logo on the laptop!! 2) look at the OS on the laptop!!
What kind of fool will be satisfied by it? It's like that time Coke decided to use slop to make an advertisement (TV commercial) and it said "Cooca Cola" (that oopsie sure went viral and became a joke on Coke's branding and demonstrable laziness).
Notice, how only hours apart, they're throwing some logo on some weird GUI that has nothing to do with Zorin:
This is a slop image. It makes no sense, does it?
Or this GUI:
What sort of GNU/Linux GUI or file manager looks like this? Probably none, but WebProNews is just prompting a factory of slop for lousy nonsense, dishing it on top of LLM slop (text).
Why does Google still allow WebProNews as a slopfarm to game the system like this? █
