Two Months Since EPO Cocaine Bust and One Month Since We Began Covering It, Still a Cowardly Media Establishment Refusing to Cover What It Admits to be True
Alicante EPO saga: António Campinos and cocaine bust a taboo in European press
Media told me this: it's true. They know it's true. They're just afraid to cover it.
Have they been keeping track of the latest scandal?
Yes.
Some of them contacted me. I didn't contact them. They contacted me.
But they they write about it? No.
I too contacted some media, almost always reputable media and always amicably and without any exaggerations or sensationalism.
I'd ask questions like: "Do you want me to relay some pointers?"
They would not even respond!
So what does that tell us about the state of European press?
Or its reluctance to write about EPO scandals?
For shame.
We decided we'd give them until Friday and now it's 3PM on Friday. We don't expect to hear back on Monday.
So the bottom line is, if you work for the EPO or are a stakeholder of the EPO, the media virtually does not exist. It does get occasional bribes from the EPO (e.g. to become a "media partner") and then it is pure propaganda or marketing. Not journalism. The EPO can get away with murders (or suicides) and nobody in the media will care anymore.
The "Mafia" has been handling the media for the EPO for over half a decade. It silenced that media. This is where EPO budget gets funnelled or generally goes to, aside from huge salaries for friends and family of what insiders call "the Alicante Mafia". █
