IBM Layoffs: It's Like They Read From a Script, Like They've Signed a Non-Disparagement Agreement/Clause
4 hours ago by Anonymous: "I thought I read here sometime in the past that the payment is technically not salary - it is a bribe to get you to sign the severance agreement with its heinous conditions." Sounds like it speaks of an IBM NDA.
Some new departures:
Notice the similarity in the words/wording.
IBM is eager to hide the layoffs or downplay them [1, 2]. The latest "last day" posts in Microsoft's social control media say "my last day as an IBM’er". Just an hour apart. Sebastian Huynh is somewhere in "New York City Metropolitan Area" and Denise Rice is in Perth, Ontario, Canada.
Why are such similar wordings used unless the company suggests to them (people impacted by "RAs") ways to say goodbye? We covered this before [1, 2]. It's kind of cruel if the company that renders you redundant then also tries to control how you speak about what happened (if you don't play along, then you lose a lot of money - and money you're otherwise entitled to anyway).
As it turns out, IBM likes to deny people access to what they're entitled to. See below. █
