Slopwatch: The Volume of Slop Has Certainly Gone Down a Lot Lately, Slop Image Providers Abandoned/Changed
This Slopwatch will be this week's last. It's dominated by just one site - a site that seems to be going the way of the dodo judging by what seems like a loss of a slop image provider. We'll come to this in a second.
First, judging by our RSS feeds (we follow a lot!), only a slopfarm run by chatbots (and a pseudonyms like MaK Ulac) wrote LLM slop disguised as Linux news. And it's only this one new instance:
That's it! That's all we found in RSS feeds. It's a big improvement compared to past months.
Now let's turn our attention to Google.
Google is a slop seller/provider, so it is in effect part of the problem.
And like the two sister slopfarms with their same slop (with slight variation), Google News promoted this:
We previously showed almost identical things pushed into Google News by the same operator/s (but different domains).
The biggest problem, however, is the slopfarm WebProNews creeping into Google News, resulting in things like these:
Change in slop image provider (did it become too expensive or shut down?) and this one is truly ridiculous.
Those mountains have no connection at all to this topic.
We have already seen like a dozen LLM slop pieces about the new kernel, so why not another?
Some plagiarism by bot (automated ripoff) of Phoronix:
Why does Google not curb this slopfarm?
Well, that says a lot about Google, doesn't it? █
