Web Developers in the US Can Already Disregard Mozilla, Firefox, and Firefox Users
The latest data in analytics.usa.gov helps show that Firefox is still below 2% (a legally meaningful threshold):
"Last month, Firefox turned 21," Mozilla said while at the same time boasting about the brand, not the browser. On the same day Mozilla wrote: "Fast Company has named Firefox to its 2025 “Brands That Matter” list, recognizing companies that go beyond acquiring customers to build meaningful relevance and cultural impact. For us, that honor reflects a simple truth about Mozilla’s mission: We build Firefox to give people agency and choice every time they go online."
So that's what it is to them - a brand to exploit and destroy, e.g. to attach Microsoft chatbots/spyware to (in exchange for money).
No wonder many people quit using Firefox. Now, as a result, many American Web developers are no longer legally obliged to test their site/s for Firefox - even Gecko - compatibility or support Firefox users (they can tell them to use another browser instead).
Bravo, Mozilla. You've messed up your own brand.
If you still use Firefox and like Firefox, consider downloading and using LibreWolf instead. My wife has happily used it since 2021. It tends to remove all the worst things in Firefox (so no need to tinker with about:config). █
