Software Freedom Conservancy (SFC) Does Not Work for Freedom, It Works to Secure the Massive Salary of Its President And Executive Director
"Next summer (in June) we turn 22," I said in the sister site this morning. And "GNU/Linux is fast becoming mainstream," I had said earlier.
Seeing the growing attacks by Microsoft on GNU/Linux (because it displaces Windows) isn't hard; Canonical, long co-opted by Microsoft (through payments), is offering Windows support and we see Microsoft people constantly attacking us online. They have a very strong loathing for GNU/Linux advocacy; it gets in their way (towards money), so they take it "personally".
Last week we saw some more attacks on the founders of GNU and of Linux. We won't link to those attacks, we'll only say that the source of those attacks is a giveaway.
Attacking the adoption of GNU/Linux by attacking individual people won't work. It just won't scale.
Some years ago the SFC (a copycat and parasite) attacked SFLC - the organisation whose work it had long attempted to 'steal' - by attacking its chief and slandering him with help from a Microsoft-funded front group in Europe. Now, a couple of years later, it turns out that SFC celebrates just losing 2 million dollars a year.
But wait, it doesn't end there.
Now, after we called them out on this BS SFC associates are trying to censor us. They cannot deny the greed (e.g. the chief taking home like quarter million dollars a year - far more than a person without kids can ever meaningfully spend) and the losses, so instead they pick on critics.
We must be very effective then. The "shy" millionaires don't like it. █
