Why We'll Continue Our IBM/Red Hat Focus in 2026
While we have very good material about the EPO lined up till next year (and probably well beyond that), it is important for us to document what goes on in the company that has the most control over GNU/Linux (yes, more than any single letter in "GAFAM").
The company used to be known as "Red Hat". After the bluewashing it is just known as "IBM".
So what exactly goes on at IBM? Looking for more hungry workers to replace what IBM calls "dinobabies"?
There will be many more departures not only later this month but also next month. There are "tipsters" who say so and strong evidence that lists of people (to PIP and/or cull) are being compiled already.
Don't worry about the fate of GNU/Linux. It does not depend on IBM. Aside from GAFAM and Valve there are many companies that rely on and therefore contribute to the platform. Also: We Need Community-Run Distros (Fedora is not). █
