Valuing One's Work by the Effort or Budget Taken to Undermine It

A decade ago the EPO hired several law firms in a bid to silence/censor me and it failed. It actually backfired. I ended up writing a lot more about EPO corruption and, at the end, Benoît Battistelli was removed. By conservative estimates, back then the EPO spent several tens of thousands of pounds on this campaign (lawyers' bills, "hired guns" based in London).
Some people think they can do better and are willing to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds. There is no law that prevents them from doing so. But that too can backfire.
Of course we'll carry on writing. As long as what we publish is factual, nothing prevents its publication (injunctions have clear scope).
The more influential a publication becomes, the more likely it is to come under attack (verbal, legal, even attacks on family members). There are potent means by which to respond to each type of attack. █
