"Last year," an EPO insider has told us, "when his contract was extended until 2029, [Luis] Berenguer boasted to his horrified staff he wouldn't go "anywhere anytime soon"."
But wait...
"Just a few weeks ago," said the insider, "Berenguer admitted in an internal meeting to his staff that there is an investigation against him, confident to get through it. He did not give a reason for the investigation. Initially, he wasn't laid off and continued working at the EPO. Then you, Roy, started covering his little misstep. As of now, he is on sick leave for the next six months and it is unclear if he will ever return. And yes, the EPO's internal social security system is going to compensate for his huge salary while at the same time staff gets less and less reward."
So the EPO is in effect rewarding a cocaine addict; it'll pay him to do nothing. Well, nothing except post photos of his girls and write misleading nonsense about women (he's said to be abusing women who work at the EPO; he's alleged to be exceptionally combative against them). █
