IBM: We Pay You to be Obedient or Deny You What You're Entitled to If You Don't Act Obediently
On NDAs:
- IBM Forces Staff to Sign an NDA If They Want Severance Package, in Effect Bribing Them or Denying Them Money They're Entitled to If They 'Disparage' IBM
- IBM Layoffs: It's Like They Read From a Script, Like They've Signed a Non-Disparagement Agreement/Clause
- Microsoft's Non-Disparagement Agreements/Clauses: Can't See, Hear, or Speak
IBM's CEO is doing a buzzwords tour while the company is sinking. You cannot criticise him.
Don't worry, IBM will do "AI" something; failing that, IBM will do "quantum" something [1, 2]; no more questions.
When it comes to the CEO, age discrimination is not a thing. "Dinobabies" are only the "low-level" staff.
If these new comments have merit, then people sign not only NDAs; they also agree not to sue, not just not to criticise or not to talk about things they know:
A severance package is typically a legal right enshrined and protected by states; the severance package should not have such conditions attached to it.
Good luck starting legal battles with a company that has almost as many lawyers (including aggressive patent lawyers) as it has geeks. █
