It Seems Like IBM is Firing 'Everybody' (Anywhere, Any Age, No Matter What Team)
6 hours ago: (latecomer in the 'AK sez' tour [1, 2])
Some people posit or suggest that IBM only 'surgically' fires old people. Not true.
Some people posit or suggest that IBM only fires 'expensive' people (high salaries or highly paid roles). Not true, either. We see many 'RAs' (layoffs) in India.
Some people who manage IBM want us to believe people get fired for the company to better focus on "AI". So why are so-many self-described "AI specialists" sacked? (We gave many examples)
IBM seems to be a misguided company in a freefall.
Sure, many times the company replaces 'expensive' or 'old' people with younger and 'hungrier' people in low-salary/low-paid regions. Or imports people to replace them (from poorer regions in the world).
The company also buys companies that it claims are (or would become) "assets" for some buzzword.
But all in all, with layoffs and closures all over the place, it truly seems like IBM's management has no idea what it's doing. Its sole goal is to prop up the shares (Wall Street) and thereby increase their bonuses, based on bogus "performance".
In "IBM" there is "I", but no "U" or "Us"
Healthy companies would sack IBM's management (sacked by Board, bylaws etc.) but IBM is a sick company. █
