'Crypto' 'Currencies' Are a Ponzi Scheme. So Is "AI". Both Destroy the Planet, Not Just the Economy.
So this morning psydroid shared some findings from his homeland, which says datacenters there use "as much electricity as 1.9 million homes" (article in English in DutchNews.nl).
So I asked him "is there demand or do they just build?"
Remember that credible reports say companies stockpiled GPUs (that they hadn't paid for; a lot of that is just channel-stuffing to fake sales, create hype, cause "FOMO", inflate the prices artificially based on a phony scarcity). Believe it or not, millions of these GPUs just sit there boxed, unopened, unconnected, unused. They tell us there are shortages while we have warehouses full of that stuff without being used.
psydroid told me they "just build" (datacenters) to keep this Ponzi scheme going and waste electricity.
Does that remind anyone else of 'Crypto' 'Currencies' [1, 2]? Same thing, but one has more media "acceptability" because it bribes the media, as we've just shown.
The truly horrific thing is, even Linux Foundation officials now bag bribes to help sell this Ponzi scheme by misusing the Linux Mark. As we put it earlier today in IRC, "Jim Zemlin is a giant scammer. CORPORATE scammer, but nevertheless a scammer." █
