It has now been about a week since the 'regulator' of the EPO met in Europe to discuss the EPO. Thanks to all those who contacted their delegates before or throughout the meeting. It really helps. It still helps. It motivates those delegates to study the issues.
About a decade ago Jesper Kongstad got the boot because he wrongly assumed he was above the law (protected by a Danish political party) and did all sorts of rogue things, not limited to how he protected Benoît Battistelli while Battistelli did loads of illegal things (some came to light only after he had left).
Right now the chief of the EPO, António Campinos, wrongly assumes that hiding his friend will solve the issue, but it'll only worsen matters by contributing to the idea that the entire top-level management at the EPO is in cahoots and is trying to hide crimes instead of tackling crimes - even to the point of threatening staff representatives. █
