More GAFAM Layoffs in Seattle, Bellevue (Washington)

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Dec 17, 2025

With only 8 days left before Christmas, GAFAM has decided to implement another round of layoffs [1,2], not limited to Microsoft's.

Those who believe there's no "AI bubble" (there is! Whatever you call it, "bubble" or something else, this is not sustainable and it boils down to unprecedented scale of accounting fraud under the GAFAM presidency, sponsored bribed by Microsoft) will inevitably see Microsoft GitHub going offline due to money problems and soaring debt levels. A lot of things will simply vanish. Some "AI" things are already vanishing (they run out of money to borrow).

Microsoft laid off (by our count) over 30,000 workers this year. In that sense, it was a record year for Microsoft layoffs. And wait till the bubble truly and fully implodes.

  1. Amazon lays off more Seattle, Bellevue employees amid corporate restructuring

Amazon announced another round of layoffs on Saturday that will affect 84 employees in Seattle and Bellevue, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filing.

The layoffs are scheduled to take effect between February 2, 2026, and February 23, 2026. Employees working in software development, recruiting, human resources, and engineering, among other departments, will be affected.

  2. Amazon Slashes Jobs In Washington – But Says It's Not Part Of 14,000 Layoffs

Amazon has once again made unfortunate job cuts announcement with fresh layoffs in Washington state, leading to worry among locals and workers alike. In a new filing with the Washington state government, the global technology and e-commerce giant confirmed it will eliminate further 84 positions across its offices in the state.

However, the company has very clearly stressed that this new round of cuts is separate from the much larger workforce reductions it announced globally earlier this year. The clarification has obviously done little to soften the blow for those directly affected, nor for those who see these measures as part of a bigger layoff trend in the tech industry.
