With 10 Days Left, the Free Software Foundation (FSF) Has Already Raised Close to $300,000 This Winter
The Free Software Foundation (FSF) seeks funding from ordinary folks. No longer does the Free Software Foundation take money from GAFAM and IBM. That's a good thing!
Last year, after extending the cutoff date, the FSF managed to reach the goal:
It's already looking like the FSF will accomplish the same this year.
Supporting the FSF means supporting not just staff of the FSF (salaries); it means covering hosting bills, supporting online advocacy of the concepts of Free software, and sometimes legal contributions (e.g. participation in cases) towards copyleft enforcement.
Just to be very clear, any time I do Free software advocacy I am not 'competing' with the FSF, I try to do my share to help the goals of the FSF. As far as I'm aware, they do appreciate my articles and they treasure our work on this site (all of us). We are doing the best we can to support, GNU, the FSF, and their founder. They're not under attack because they're 'despicable'; they're besieged by despicable corporations and very despicable people, who often work for these corporations. █
