libera.chat Was Under Attack Last Night
At around 9pm (GMT/UTC) last night libera.chat was under attack that lasted until midnight or so. It was timed for "maximal effect". It impacted us (well, our remnants there) and also some other channels, IRCNow for example. That shows one isn't invulnerable to IRC abuse by/for just choosing one of the "big" or "reputable" networks.
Someone was very eager to ruin Christmas for libera.chat staff. It worked. It worked for about 3 hours. That also upset a lot of users of libera.chat. Several months from now libera.chat turns 5. █
