TV Detox 3
I still wanted to watch tv with my daughter. So we did yesterday.
Stranger Things of all shows. It really sucked the life out of me. It left me with a feeling of loss, a tad emotional, almost anxious.
It reminded me of watching on of the latest Star Wars a few years back, we left the Cinema feeling drained and not enjoying ourselves.
But I like testing the water. Giving up something and trying it again, to see, to affirm, why I'd give it up. I'm not a cold turkey type of person. I want to give up on something completely, holding it in my hand and not needing it anymore.

THAT: Servovalve Spool Actuator
The servovalve bandwidth is the parameter for how well the servovalve does at higher frequencies of commanded motion. I believe 150 Hz is a high-bandwidth servovalve, from what I've seen on the Internet. At lower bandwidth values, it takes longer for the spool to reach the desired position, and longer to return back to null, which has an overall dampening effect on the amplitude of the system.

Don't run serious systems on rasberry pi 1
After light in my toitlet broke (it's a LED setup with everything integrated) I wanted to make sure that it wasn't wireing simply disconecting or g-d forbid burning. So I turned off electricity in entire apartment. This was a mistake as afterwards my pi signaled only with it's PWR LED. After buying new cable and trying out different adapters (I was busy and didn't have time for this) I finally managed to bring this server back online.

My CPU - the C16
The C16 CPU has 32 general purpose registers each 16bit or 32bit or 64bit wide.
I don't use the version with 16bit wide registers because the address space is too small and it needed banking RAM to address more than 64KB.
The ISAs for the 32bit and 64bit version are identical, a 64bit program can run on the 32bit CPU with small changes, mainly changing the addresses to 32bit.
This CPU is called C16 because all the opcodes are 16bit words, it makes the instruction decoder simple and C16 could read 128 bytes per clock cycles and decode 64 instructions.
The goal of the ISA is to have as many bits as possible for the jump (`jmp`) instruction and have as many as possible instructions with 2 register operands.

geminiprotocol.net downtime and IP change
Due to a change of datacenter by the VPS provider, I am required to migrate geminiprotocol.net to a new IP address by the end of this year. I'm not sure exactly when I will go through with this, but probably either tomorrow or the day after. I will do my best to minimise the downtime involved, but please don't be alarmed if the server is offline for a little while. I will make another post when the migration is complete.

Capsular Gemlog Manager
My entire gemlog is now in a single file, index and served with a specialized Fornax server from RAM. No disk.
I found myself no longer gemlogging, because it became too annoying to deal with hundreds of files! And indices! And making sure names work with dates... And keeping all the links working across the entire site...
I just append a gemtext entry to the end, run the indexer and the server reloads it.

One Year Later
Wow, can't believe it's been a year since I last posted on my gemini server...
Life's been wild since 2024-12-26. I've been at my new job for over a year now. I broke-up with my girlfriend at the time and I now have a new girlfriend and I'm very happy. My life overall is really good honestly.
I'm going to aim to write at least once a week, if not once every 2 weeks over the next year. Short pieces mostly, kind of like a journal if anything.

* Gemini (Primer) links can be opened using Gemini software. It's like the World Wide Web but a lot lighter.
